California Privacy Notice

This supplements our Privacy Policy. California privacy rights depend on the law's applicability to the business, information, and request. You can contact us whether or not you have a TradeProof account.

Information and uses

The Privacy Policy describes our information sources, uses, recipients, and retention considerations. Relevant categories include identifiers and contact details; account and billing records; service and network activity; professional and work information; submitted documents and messages; and derived search or compliance results. User-provided documents may contain additional information.

Information lawfully available from government records can receive different treatment under California law. We do not treat all information associated with a public record, an account, or a business relationship as automatically excluded. Tell us which information concerns you so we can review it.

Your rights

Where the CCPA applies, rights include knowing and accessing personal information, obtaining a portable copy where required, correcting inaccurate information, requesting deletion subject to exceptions, opting out of sale or sharing, limiting certain uses of sensitive personal information, and protection against unlawful discrimination. A qualifying business relationship does not by itself remove these rights.

Our policy is not to sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can still submit an opt-out or ask how information is used. We do not require an identity-verification process for a sale/sharing opt-out or a sensitive-information limitation request. Global Privacy Control suppresses our optional browser product telemetry; that control is not a claim that every possible use of information is disabled.

Make a request

Open Privacy requests or email [email protected]. Describe the information and the action you want. An account email can help locate an account but is not required for a request about other information. Do not include passwords, payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or identity documents in your initial email.

For requests to know, correct, or delete, we use verification appropriate to the information and risk, preferring information we already hold. When the CCPA requires it, acknowledgment is due within 10 business days and the response within 45 calendar days of receipt; a permitted extension requires notice during that first response period. Verification does not reset that clock. Opt-outs follow their own requirements.

Agents and review

An authorized agent may submit a request. We may ask for evidence of authority and verification as permitted by law, taking account of a valid power of attorney and the type of request. We do not apply the same identity checks to every request type.

We explain a denial or retained information, subject to applicable limits. If you disagree, reply to the response and ask for a review. You can also contact the California Privacy Protection Agency or the California Attorney General.
